Bryan & Tucker met in 2021.

Bryan was Talent Lead at Sequoia. Tucker was Head of Engineering at a portco.

They both knew hiring could work differently.

Bryan had spent a decade recruiting at Google, Uber, and Apple before joining Sequoia's talent team, where he met Tucker, a Head of Engineering at one of their portfolio companies. They met weekly, using the best of what was available to build out Tucker’s team.

The agencies wanted 20–25% contingency. The tools were monotonous. The math didn't work, and the process felt slow.

Three years later, Tucker was running ads for a different AI startup. Recruiting kept being the thing people responded to. He messaged Bryan, who'd been thinking about the same problem from the recruiter side. They joined forces, built an initial product, and battle-tested the platform on seed-stage roles in San Francisco: one of the hardest markets there is.
